The Vice President of the Republic Dr. Osman Mohammed Yousuf Kabir affirmed the State's commitment to supporting and sponsoring the health sector in the country. He praised the launching of the first phase of vaccination campaign to eradicate measles, vitamin A deficiency and eradication of poliomyelitis carried out by the Ministry of Health with national and international partners.
In his address at the Friendship Hall today, the minister addressed all the competent bodies in cooperation with the international partners to implement the immunization program, especially the local component. He called on the Ministry of Health to improve the service and improve its distribution by giving priority to areas in exceptional circumstances.
The vice president praised the efforts of donors from international organizations who have contributed to the financing and processing of the campaign. He also hailed the field vaccination teams which are now deployed in cities and ruralarea of Sudan.
From his part, Federal Health Minister Professor Al-Sadig Mahjoub al-Tayeb affirmed the ministry's commitment to fulfill its duty towards citizens and to develop and support vaccination programs.
