KHARTOUM - The Vice President of the Transitional Military Council has handed over the initiative of Sudanese university professors and colleges and higher institutes for the homeland.
He described d. "The initiative is an independent national initiative presented by professors of 34 public universities and 70 universities and colleges that reflect the aspirations of the Sudanese people."
Al-Bishari pointed out that the initiative was based on specific ideas, foremost of which is maintaining the security and stability of Sudan and promoting a comprehensive dialogue among all the components of the people to achieve a new Sudan in which the values of freedom and peace will be realized.
He pointed out that the initiative presented solutions to economic, political, social and state reform issues, as well as forming a government of competencies for the interim period.
Al-Bishari pointed out that the meeting discussed the issue of opening universities and creating a suitable environment for students and professors.
He said that the Vice President of the Transitional Military Council pledged to provide the necessary support to the universities so that it can play its role properly and called for the formation of independent committees in the legal, political and media fields to support the Council and the Transitional Government.
