The President Al-Bashir, and his accompanying delegation returned from the Ethiopian capital Addis after participating in the 32nd Ordinary Summit of the African Union, which concluded its work today, where he was received by the first Vice President Bakri, and a number of ministers.
The President and his delegation participated actively in all events held under the theme "Year of Refugees, Returnees and Internally Displaced Persons: Towards Permanent Solutions for Forced Displacement", it is an important issue for Sudan in view of the great suffering which the country bear by millions of refugees and immigrants. The Summit also addressed the issues of institutional reform of the African Union, the situation of peace and security on the continent, the reports of chairpersons union committees and positions of the continental organization.

The summit was an opportunity for the President to hold bilateral meetings with a number of African leaders and heads of regional and international organizations to discuss relations with these countries and organizations and issues of common concern, especially the efforts to implement the peace agreement in South Sudan and the agreement signed in Khartoum between the conflicted parties of central Africa Republic of Africa Where Sudan's efforts to achieve peace in the region have been highly praised.
In this regard, the President of Republic held a trilateral summit with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abi Ahmed. He held bilateral meetings with Ugandan, Rwandese and Somali Presidents, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Executive Director of NEPAD.
On the other hand, the continent supported the Sudanese candidate for the post of Deputy Secretary-General of the International Organization for Migration, as well as Sudan's candidate for membership of the International Human Rights Committee, the NEPAD Sub-Committee and the Civil Aviation Commission. The African Union also agreed to organize the first International Gum Conference in Khartoum in May.
