Makkah – On Saturday, 1st June 2019, the summit of the 14th Conference of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Makkah has concluded. The final communiqué has included the issues reviewed by the leaders of the Islamic countries.
The conference expressed support for the choice and decision of the Sudanese people about their future and welcomed the action taken for the interests of the Sudanese people and maintains the state’s institutions. The Conference called all Sudanese parties to continue constructive dialogue in order to maintain peace and social cohesion in the country to achieve the aspirations of the Sudanese people in the peaceful transition of power and to achieve stability and sustainable development.
The Conference called on the international community to cancel the external debt of Sudan and the abolition of unilateral economic sanctions imposed on it and appealed to the States and financial institutions to contribute to the provision of all forms of support and assistance to the Sudan to enable it to overcome the critical economic situation experiences, as called for Congress to cancel the name of Sudan from the United States of America’s list of states sponsoring terrorism.
