The Khartoum New International Airport

        The Airports total area is 79 square kilometers and the operational internal area is 20 square kilometers, comprising two runways of 4kilometers in length and 60 meters in width each, and a control tower of a height of 58 meters, and a distinguished presidential hall. The Airport is provided with the most modern system of supplying the planes with fuel.

The New International Khartoum Airport is affiliated to the Presidency.. At a distance of 40 kms. South of Omdurman City and 7 Kms West of Jabel Awliya  Dam Lake. The New Airport is located amongst three states (Khartoum-North Kordofan and the White Nile States), and it is easy to reach from all over the National Capital and Sudan States in a short time.

Marawi Dam Project (2003-2008)

Marawi Dam Project, which lies about 350 kilometer to the north of Khartoum, is considered a multi – purpose hydro – electric power project. Basically, its objective is to generate hydro – electric power. The dam is constructed at the 4th cataract, on the River Nile, at Marawi Town. Several studies were conducted, about the project, before a number of decades; but; they continued in the files, since 1948.

Some studies followed; and the last study was conducted by Monenco – Agra Co., (which is a Canadian Company), in 1993, after the advent of the National Salvation Government, which endeavoured to revive and execute this vital project. Then, there is the study which was prepared by Hydroproject Institute, in September 1999.
